Energy Efficient Homes

Energy prices haven’t left the news for the last few months, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.

I recently watched a passionate speech by Martin Lewis, he of moneysavingexpert.com, commenting on both the previous energy price rises and the upcoming ones. Listening to that clip and reading the numbers on his respective website, everything is pretty horrifying…

From October 2021 to March 2022, the direct debit cap was up 12% - taking Martin’s calculations, that would mean typical usage would lead to a bill of £1,277 a year. That rate changed in April, with an extra 54% added to the price cap. That takes it up to £1,971 a year for typical usage. Now there is a confirmed rate increase, starting in October, of another 80%. That takes the number of a typical user up to a staggering £3,549 a year.

There’s more to come too. Predictions for the start of 2023 are around the 50% mark, taking the cost into the realm of £5,000+.

All of this means that limiting your usage of energy in the household is an absolute must if considering your bills, whilst preserving all of the heat that is generated for as long as possible, keeping it in your home and not allowing it to leak out to the outside world.

Solartek can help with this very challenge. Our Insulation Film can reflect 93% of radiant heat back into your room, meaning insulation is at a high. Every pound you spend on heating your home will go further and you’ll see a reduction in your heating bills, as well as lowering your CO2 emissions and carbon footprint. As you can see in the picture below, windows are the main point of energy loss, but our film is an easy fix and we supply and install nationwide including UK and Ireland.

You may be wondering what happens in summer though? We’ve all been melting through August, with an official record high temperature recorded. The last thing you want is to have more heat locked into your property during this period. Well, this Insulation Film not only contains all that precious heat in the winter, but it also reflects over 50% of heat in the summer. This helps to keep a more stable temperature inside, limiting the need for fans or even air conditioning units - all of which add to those pesky utility bills.

There’s some extra benefits too, with the film cutting out 99% of UV rays, which are the main cause of fading in possessions, and also reducing glare and eye discomfort, common problems for those staring at screens at home either for work in your home-office, or even TV’s.

All in all, this is an affordable solution that we would normally advertise as being able to pay you back within 5 years when energy costs were low. However, if we consider the drastic increases in energy bills that have already been seen, and with more on the way, it could be a matter of months before the investment of this film sees returns.

With a ten year performance manufacturer warranty and a life expectancy of 15 years this would create a very profitable investment at current energy costs.

This film is a simple application to your existing windows - you don’t need to worry about infrastructure like solar panels or anything cumbersome like that. Instead we simply and quickly apply the Insulation Film, and you’ll start feeling the physical benefits, and seeing the fiscal benefits, immediately.

The insulation window film has a comprehensive 10 year warranty and is perfect for application to your home - if you would like to find out more or even get a quote, simply complete our enquiries form here, on LinkedIn, on 08000151815 or on enquiries@solartekfilms.com.

It’s time to start fighting those energy bills and the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll save and earn.
