Combining anchoring with the strength and elasticity of anti-shatter glass containment film, the systems are designed to capture and absorb any shock and hold glass together. They're regularly used on overhead glass and in buildings where additional bomb blast protection is required.

Dow Corning® silicone sealant anchors the protective window film to the window frame. A triangular glazing joint provides a sealant bite of 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch on both the window film and the framing member. This joint design has performed well in a variety of tests of high-performance window film applications designed to withstand applied forces.
Silicones are specified for their high tensile and tear strength; long-term flexibility; resistance to harsh weather, temperature extremes and ultraviolet light; and excellent adhesion to glass and most window frame materials.
The two most specified products are Dow Corning® 995 Structural Silicone Sealant and Dow Corning® 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant. Originally formulated as structural glazing adhesive/sealants to adhere metal, glass and stone curtainwall panels to building exteriors, Dow Corning 995 and 983 sealants have found application in impact-resistant window systems for new construction and for retrofit systems for existing buildings. They are selected for their ability to maintain positive adhesion while window frames bend and twist under a range of stresses. Easily applied and tooled, these Dow Corning silicone products function as trouble-free, long lasting window glazing sealants, while remaining ready for the worst that the natural world and human nature can provide. They are the anchors to the most advanced impact-resistant window systems in the industry.
3M™ Impact Protection Adhesive is a unique adhesive applied around the frame to bond the glass, window film and frame together. It significantly improves protection against severe weather damage, bomb blast or would-be intruders. Designed for use with 3M™ Ultra Safety and Security Window FIlms, it gives homeowners and commerical building owners more options when considering their desired level of protection.
3M is a leader in adhesive technology and is one of the few window film companies to make its own adhesives.While other adhesives can take up to three weeks before they fully cure, 3M™ Impact Protection Adhesive can fully cure in less than seven days. Our adhesives has greater tear strength , elongation and tensile strength than commonly used attachment adhesives. The 3M™ Impact Protection Adhesive is available in both black and white option.
The 3M™ Impact Protection Profile uses an ingenious system that includes a flexible, gasket-style attachment to lock the film and window to the fames. The Impact Protection Profile provides the same benefits as the Impact Protection Adhesive, plus it offers a clean, factory-finished appearance to the window.

It adapts easily to most window frames and often can be installed without cutting existing gaskets. The Impact Protection Profile can also be retrofitted to existing safety film applications for increased protection. Available in black and with different sizes for commerical applications or white for residential applications, it adds real security to the window in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
A retrofit solution using a very high bonding adhesive system, this rigid edge-retention system has been designed to absorb and transfer impact load evenly across the system without deterioration, helping to retain glass fragments and reduce the likelihood of injury. Our range of Framelok and Anglelok systems, in conjunction with our safety films or existing compliant safety film installations, ensures a resistance to repeated attack whether in the event of an attempted break-in and security threat or blast mitigation and resistance to glass failure due to unexpected spontaneous failure or windborne debris due to natural disaster.
