Businesses and homeowners in the capital would perhaps be wise to take extra precautions at the moment after two anti-terror helicopters were spotted flying above the capital at the end of last month (May 27th).
The choppers were seen near major landmarks in the city, including Big Ben, The London Eye, The Shard, Battersea Power Station, Canary Wharf and The Monument, the Daily Mirror reports. However, it is not yet known whether the purpose behind the flights was a practice run, because of a real threat or to put on a display of force.
The V22 Ospreys, nicknamed The Transformers, are often referred to as heli-planes and are able to transport military forces to wherever they need to be very quickly indeed. They come with three 19ft-long rotors on each wing that rotate 90 degrees so that after a helicopter-esque take off the machines can then transform into a fixed-wing craft, capable of flying at high speeds.
Whether you live in London or another urban area, the threat of terrorism is sadly all too real these days. As a business owner, you need to do all you can to protect your company and your members of staff, so consider installing armorcoat window film on the glass of your buildings so you’re less likely to be injured by flying glass in the event of a terrorist attack.
The most common cause of death in a bomb blast or similar is secondary blast injuries, according to ISRN Emergency Medicine, as a result of flying debris caused by the explosion. As such, fortifying your windows certainly seems like a sensible step.
