Shop owners are appealing for a stronger Police presence after 3 Harbour Street businesses were vandalised last week.
Union House, Elliott’s and Mosaic Boutique all had large windows smashed early Tuesday evening, leaving them with no choice but to patch their shop fronts up with ugly wooden boards.
According to Kent Online, Union House employee Jason House said: “This vandalism is a recurring thing…unless you’re a bigger company willing to push the police and take it to court, it seems it’s for the community to pick up the pieces”.
Small business in the area are growing increasingly concerned and as well as the expense and the enormous inconvenience of the mess, it leaves the shops vulnerable to burglaries.
